Love is the Key

My beautiful niece, Hailey, just got married to her handsome man, Zac.  Hailey’s wedding was rustic vintage, so when we decided to give her a bridal shower, we wanted to follow that theme.  We chose “Love is the Key” for her bridal shower, and it was a lot of fun to work with.

Shwoer Invite front

For the invitations, we created a set of clip art keys that replaced the key teeth with “love” words, like Cherish, Eternal, Bliss, Love, Match, Forever and Kiss.

Lauren did a beautiful job on centerpieces, using Hailey’s blush color for floral balls, which were placed atop candle holders, tied with tulle and an antique key charm.  We put these on a  burlap place mat framed in lace.

Lauren made these beautiful burlap pockets for each place setting, with muslin rosettes and embellished with ribbon and a small antique key.

Guest were asked to write questions, which Hailey answered throughout the evening…so we all got to know her and Zac a little bit better.

We enjoyed the food and facilities at Schmidts Pastry Cottage, which allowed us to have a roomy setting with delicious food.  The best part about it…we didn’t have to do any of the cooking!

Hailey with six of her besties all together again as another one “bites the dust.”  The score is now 4 gone, 3 hangin’ on.

We took one of Hailey and Zac’s engagement pictures, enlarged and framed it, and then left it out where people could write their advice for the happy couple.

Charm Poem

Favor 3

For favors, Lauren made darling charms with antique keys, and gold and blush colored pearls.  She attached the charm to the lobster claw, and put it with the poem.

We’re so happy for this darling couple as they begin their life together.

Mommy to Bee

Our cute friend, Natalie, is expecting twins–a boy and a girl!  She’s been on bed rest for several weeks, but now that she’s 32 weeks (yep….that tiny baby bump is TWO babies at 32 weeks!) her doctor is letting her move around a bit.  We were thrilled that she felt up to coming out today for a little while to celebrate at a Mommy to Bee shower.

Vickie’s daughter, Tiffany, iced these darling mini cupcakes that looked just like a beehive!

We made fruit skewers to put in the Bee Jar that Lauren made by painting a terracotta pot with bright yellow acrylic paint, then striping it with black electrical tape.  A foam block and green shred prepared it for a fruit bouquet!

Bumble balls were white chocolate with coconut, yellow chocolate with sprinkles, and milk chocolate with crushed oreos.  MMMMM!  And the striped Bee-Berries were a hit!

Mini Bumble Bundt cakes, Honey Ham Sandwiches with a variety of cheeses, and a bottle of water completed the buffet.

Vickie made these cute favors that said “Thanks for buzzin by” and they were filled with Bit ‘O Honey!

Natalie we’re so thrilled you’ve made it to 32 weeks, and hope your little ones hang on for a few more weeks before making their appearance!
